YOUR GOOD PARTNER FOR ANY BUILDING PROJECT
Save TIME... Save MONEY...
Kolat Bricks are attractive, hydraulically compressed, interlocking clay bricks, made from local materials, that are dry stacked in the construction of a wide range of building projects.
Our bricks are highly versatile and are designed to be left natural.
They are however also suitable for a wide variety of finishes, including painting, or varnishing, or the application of a fine cement slurry, or can be plastered if required. The choice is yours...
KOLAT IS FASTER
-
Dry-Stacking system results in much quicker construction.
-
1 labourer can lay 800 bricks per day (equivalent to 2400 standard clay bricks).
-
1 Kolat brick = 3.5 conventional clay fired bricks.
-
8 x Kolat Bricks can be laid in the time it takes to lay 1 sandcrete block.
-
Kolat Bricks are much lighter than conventional blocks.
-
Easy to use – dry stacking can be done by unskilled labour and eliminates the time making, transporting and spreading mortar.
KOLAT IS STRONGER
-
Higher impact strength than typical concrete blocks.
-
Kolat Bricks typically have a strength of 7 to 11Mpa.
-
Are suitable for use in areas subject to seismic activity.
-
Interlocking system eliminates the risk of loss of stability as mortar weakens.
-
75% of the walls are dry stacked thus retaining strength.
-
Kolat adopt the proven Hydraform construction system which has been used in Africa for over 30 years.
KOLAT IS MORE EFFICIENT
-
3 x more efficient than standard bricks in terms of thermal insulation (keeping cold out/warmth in).
-
Much more environmentally friendly (doesn’t require burning wood to fire/uses less cement/uses materials on site thus less transport).
-
Bricks are self aligning due to design.
-
Can be produced with low water absorption properties for use in wet or damp applications.
KOLAT IS CHEAPER
-
Less Mortar required (75% dry stacked).
-
Less cement needed (50% less than standard concrete blocks).
-
Unskilled labour can be used for laying bricks.
-
Bricks can be produced on site (reduced transport costs).
-
98% of bricks are available for reuse should redesign or reconfiguration be required at any time.
